Junior Rules

For play at weekends and on Bank Holidays the following applies:-

·        No member of the junior section is permitted to play before noon unless accompanied by a full adult member, or as part of an official junior competition or match taking place that day.

For play at all other times:-

·        No junior aged under 12 may play the course except with an adult or a junior with a handicap of 18 or less

·        No junior aged under 16 may play the course alone unless  they have a handicap of 18 or less

In terms of general behaviour please remember:-

·        No pitching on the putting green – there is a special practice area.

·        Walk as speedily as possible between shots and do not sit or lay on the ground whilst waiting.

·        Always play with concern for those in front and behind you – keep up with the group in front and pick up if you cannot score in a stableford.

·        Invite faster groups to play through, particularly adults.

·        Do not move, talk or stand close to somebody taking a shot – sound carries a long way.

·        If playing practice rounds use common sense regarding playing more than one ball – hitting several balls from the same place or on to the same green will damage the course.

·        Always replace divots, smooth bunkers and repair pitch marks – even if they are not yours!

·        Do not carry your bag across tees or greens, nor drop it on the green.

·        Leave the green as soon as you are finished – mark the score elsewhere.

·        The rules of golf are very precise – nobody knows them all! There are copies of the rule book in the clubhouse and it’s a good idea to carry one. Learn the basic rules so that you enjoy your game without upsetting others.

·        Respect the clubhouse dress code – especially shoes, jeans and hats.

·        Be courteous to all players and expect the same in return.
